MM Provides Something For Everyone

Midday Madness (MDM) is an interactive national tour of events, hitting 8 cities across the UK in the lead up to the main Midnight Madness events. The events provide a full day of basketball entertainment for the whole family, featuring:

Hoop In To Health

A new project from Rising Ballers. To help spread the advantages of healthy living in schools.

Coaches will go in schools and run a raod show on healthy living then coaches will head up after school clubs , preparing the kids for for the games ahead.

Each school will have a girls and boys team.

The coaching will involve:

  • Passing
  • Shooting
  • Team play
  • Dribbling
  • Discipline

We will run a central venue league where all teams will play one game a week. After the league there will be a playoff depending on the positions of each team each school will have girls and boys Teams. The final teams will be the last 2 teams in the playoffs

The finals will be between the 2 schools which are left in the playoffs. The final will be held at Mountbatten centre just before the Portsmouth Smugglers play there national league fixture in front of a crowd.

SABA competition dates announced

 

Rising Ballers have Entered 5 teams into the Solent Area Basketball Association Competitions. We have two U12 Teams, two U14 teams and one U16 team.

We hope this will carry on the enthusiasm of the kid as they now have somewhere to compete on a regular basis!!

Rising Ballers Come 2nd in Hampshire

 

The Rising Baller U12s took 2 teams to the youth games 2007. Our 2nd team finished 5 out of 8 teams. The 1st them Played eastleigh in the finals. Rising ballers lost to eastleigh by 4 points and settled for silver.

Nike Support Rising Ballers

 

Rising Ballers have struck up a relationship with Nike Factory Gunwhaf! Nike will give all Rising Baller members a 10% discount on on any item sold in the factory store in Gunwhaf Quays. Nike will also Donate prizes towards the Rising Baller Camps.

Rising Ballers Win bid with Local Network

 

Rising Ballers have won an award from the Local Network Fund. To help aid the schools programme, of creating after school clubs and feeding them into the Rising Baller Programme.

Rising Ballers WIn First Tournament

 

Rising Ballers Entered two teams in the tournament which is held once a month by Solent Kestrels. Rising Ballers where put in the ;ower division of competition. one of our two teams went undefeated to the finals while our second team lost one game and lost out to the final by points difference. Rising ballers met Local competitors Portsmouth City Pressgang in the finals. The final score was 14 - 10 to RIsing Ballers.
