06/03/2008 -- A Lot Has Happened Since 2007

Portsmouth City Smugglers before christmas were on a high, having been undefeated in the EBL4. Since then We have qualified for the playoffs. Lost a game to which dents our play off seed. Now we are Fighting for the number 1 seed for the Div 4 playoffs. Currently we are tied first place with 3 other teams in the country with the same win percentage. On goal difference we are second in the country, We will need to win the last 2 games in the league by at least 30 to have a chance of beating westminister warriors (first in the country) on goal difference. We go away to Cardiff this weekend and then we are at home to swindon on the 15th March. Bring your Crew to come support as we finish our league games for the season, and gear up for the playoffs!!

19/12/2007 -- Merry Christmas Everybody

Portsmouth City Smugglers go into 2008 with a undefeated record in EBL4, by beating Plymouth by 36 points. Portsmouth will Host Cardiff at the Mountbatten Centre on the 5th Jan 2008 for a 6:30pm tip. Be there for 5:45pm to gaurantee a seat, as we sold out last game. Come support them to get 7-0! GO SMUGGLERS!!

22/11/2007 -- Smugglers are UNDEFEATED!!

Portsmouth City Smugglers carry on their winning streak in EBL4 by beating Guildford last weekend. Next game is at Home on the 1st December at our new home venue Mountbatten Centre. We host the Bristol Flyers at 6:30pm. Get there for 5:30pm to make sure you get a seat!

 

17/10/2007 -- NO TRAINING during half term holiday @ Portsmouth College

5/10/2007 -- Smugglers to play London Towers in 2nd round of EBL Shield

Smugglers Defeated the other new comers Lambeth Lakers to get throught to the next round of the shield. They are now set to face the London Towers away on the 3rd November.

 

25/09/2007 -- Smugglers to play Division 1 Champions

Smugglers have a friendly planned in Wothing to play 2006/2007 England Basketball Division 1 champions Worthing Thunder on the 6th October. The day before or debut sheild fixture against the Lakers at PGS( Portsmouth Grammer School) details of sheild game to follow.

 

16/09/2007 -- Smugglers Defeat over Royal Navy

Smugglers on a impressive show against the Navy. This was a training game for the Navy as well as it was for us. Smugglers beat the Navy 93 - 52. Comfortable first win of the programme. Next Game will be against England Basketball Division 1 Champions Wothing Thunder.

 

15/09/2007 -- Smugglers Due to batttle Royal Navy

Smugglers to play Royal Navy On 16th September. We have had many people interested in joining the the new top flight basketball team in the south. The game against the Navy will be the main event that will select the squad for the season. line up to follow

 

11/09/2007 -- England Basketball Shield Draw

Looking at the Independeant source of English basketball (www.pawprint75.co.uk). Portsmouth have been drawn against Lambeth Lakers in the 1st round of the shield which will take place on the 6th October. Click here to see shield flow chart.

10/09/2007 -- Training Back at original venue.

After complications and several meetings with Portsmouth college and goveners, we have negotiated a training time for the Portsmouth City Smugglers which will be held: Every Tuesday 7:30pm till 9:30pm. 4/09/2007 -- First Training Session VENUE CHANGE.

Due to some complications with staff at Portsmouth college the Fist session has moved to St Lukes School (Info about Centre Here) Tuesday 4th September 8pm till 10pm. Cost is £2 for the session to help cover the cost of the venue change.
